1. Nursing staff—annual board and lodging charges

1 The charges to nurses other than students may be reduced by up to 40 per cent. where the accommodation provided is sub-standard.
2 A further reduction of 40 per cent. is appropriate where a nurse shares accommodation at the request of her employing authority.

In addition, the maximum charge may be abated by:

  1. (i) half the proportion by which the accommodation fails to reach 120 sq ft per room (ie a single room of 60 sq ft would attract a discount of 25 per cent.).
  2. (ii) up to 20 per cent. in respect of unsatisfactory standards of the accommodation or its furnishings.
