§ Lord James Douglas-HamiltonNational nature reserves throughout Great Britain are the responsibility of the Nature Conservancy Council which is funded on a Great Britain basis by my right hon. Friend the Secretary of State for the Environment, and I refer the hon. Member to the reply given to him today on my right hon. Friend's behalf. Local nature reserves are the responsibility of local authorities.
