To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department what representation he has received requesting additional police for Leicester.

We have not recently received an application by the police authority for an increase in the authorised police establishment of the Leicestershire constabulary. My right hon. Friend will be prepared to consider any such application that may be put to him, in the light of advice from Her Majesty's Inspector of Constabulary.
