To ask the Secretary of State for Social Services if he will further review his policies with regard to the use of new technology by general practitioners.

Mr. Newton

The Government continue to support such developments in general practice and recently announced in the White Paper "Promoting Better Health" that they will encourage the continued development of information and communication technology and computerisation in primary care, especially with regard to health promotion and prevention of ill health.
