HC Deb 11 January 1988 vol 125 c125W
Mr. Winnick

To ask the Secretary of State for the Environment (1) when the Walsall metropolitan borough council will be notified of his Department's decision regarding expenditure for 1988–89 on improvements to the Wimpey no-fines dwellings;

(2) what submissions have been made by the Walsall metropolitan borough council regarding the improvements to the Wimpey no-fines dwellings in the next financial year; and if he will make a statement.

Mrs. Roe

Walsall metropolitan borough council was notified on 18 December 1987 that it would receive an HIP allocation of £6.9 million for 1988–89. This allocation took full account of the most recent submissions by Walsall metropolitan borough council on the repair and improvement of Wimpey no-fines houses, which were made during the preceding HIP round. HIP allocations do not differentiate between separate items of expenditure, and it will be for Walsall metropolitan borough council to determine its own expenditure priorities during the coming financial year.
