To ask the Secretary of State for Social Services what proportion of the trainees for professional information technology posts within his Department are(a) female and (b) more than 30 years of age.

Statistical information on the number of civil servants wholly employed on information technology tasks—as specified in Treasury—Central Computer and Telecommunications Agency guidelines — who are trainees and are(a) female and (b) more than 30 years of age is not kept by this Department.

Detailed information of this sort could be provided only at disproportionate cost.
