To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland how much each education authority in Scotland spends per pupil per year on(a) textbooks, (b) materials and supplies, (c) computers, (d) video recorders, (e) video cameras, (f) television sets and (g) paper and reprographics.

The information set out in the table, which has been compiled from local authority financial returns, gives information on expenditure per primary and secondary pupil on (a) text and library books and (b) educational tools, equipment and materials in 1985–86, the latest year for which this information is available.
