HC Deb 11 January 1988 vol 125 cc50-2W
Mr. Pike

To ask the Secretary of State for Education and Science if he will publish in theOfficial Report the 1988–89 capital allocations to each local education authority, indicating in each case the bid submitted and the allocation as a percentage of the bid in each case.

Mr. Dunn

The allocation in respect of prescribed expenditure for an individual authority does not represent my right hon. Friend's view of what that authority's capital spending on education should be. Authorities may use spending power from capital receipts and other flexibilities in the capital control system to supplement the allocations.

The information sought is given in the table.
