§ Mr. SainsburyAs my right hon. Friend the Member for Tonbridge and Malling (Mr. Stanley) the then Minister of State for the Armed Forces, informed the hon. Member for Kingston upon Hull, North (Mr. McNamara) on 22 April 1987 at column590, the Bloodhound Mk 2 system is expected to remain in service until the next century. Further improvements to the system to enable it to maintain its capability against the increasing threat are under consideration, but no decisions have yet been taken.
