HC Deb 29 February 1988 vol 128 c455W
Mr. Fearn

To ask the Secretary of State for Social Services when he expects to reach a decision on the possible redefinition of repetitive strain injury for the purpose of compensation, in the light of research now being funded by Her Majesty's Government.

Mr. Scott

We are advised on matters relating to the industrial injuries scheme by an independent body, the Industrial Injuries Advisory Council. I understand that the council expects the results of two research projects on repetitive strain injuries to be available by mid-1989 and that further consideration of this matter will be deferred until then.
