§ Mr. FearnTo ask the Secretary of State for Social Services when he expects to reach a decision on the possible redefinition of repetitive strain injury for the purpose of compensation, in the light of research now being funded by Her Majesty's Government.
§ Mr. ScottWe are advised on matters relating to the industrial injuries scheme by an independent body, the Industrial Injuries Advisory Council. I understand that the council expects the results of two research projects on repetitive strain injuries to be available by mid-1989 and that further consideration of this matter will be deferred until then.
