HC Deb 29 February 1988 vol 128 c454W
Mr. French

To ask the Secretary of State for Social Services what representations he has received concerning proposals by some employers with occupational pension schemes to withdraw death-in-service and other benefits from employees who opt for a personal pension; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Portillo

I am not aware of any such representations. Any employee considering leaving an occupational scheme should, of course, weigh any benefits which might be lost against any advantages that might be gained from making alternative arrangements, and seek expert advice as necessary.
