§ Mr. BrookeOn publication in January 1986, 800 copies of "Paying for Local Government" (Cmnd. 9714) were supplied to the Vote Office. A further 4,022 copies have been recorded as official issues, which include sales to Government Departments and may include further supplies to the Vote Office. All other sales total 6,949 copies: it is not possible to say how many were bought by the general public, as Her Majesty's Stationery Office's retail customers include local authorities and other public bodies.
