HC Deb 29 February 1988 vol 128 cc475-6W
Mr. McGrady

To ask the Secretary of State for Energy when he next expects to meet the chairman of British Nuclear Fuels Limited to discuss the future of Sellafield and the effects of reprocessing of nuclear waste on the inhabitants of the east coast of Ireland and west coast of Britain.

Mr. Michael Spicer

My right hon. Friend and I meet the chairman of BNFL regularly. I shall meet him next on Monday 29 February when I open the company's exhibition in the Upper Waiting Hall. Reprocessing is a proven and safe technology which keeps open the possibility for recycling valuable uranium and plutonium as fuel.
