§ Mr. Malcolm BruceTo ask the Secretary of State for Education and Science when he expects the University Grants Committee to make a statement regarding the provision of transitional funding for Aberdeen university in the current and subsequent financial years.
Mr. JacksonThe University Grants Committee's initial allocations of recurrent grant to universities for 1988–89, and provisional allocations for 1989–90, were announced on 9 February. The provision of any additional transitional funding for Aberdeen is a matter for the UGC in the light of its continuing discussions with the university.
