To ask the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland how many jobs have been created in the last five years as a result of foreign firms setting up in Northern Ireland.

Mr. Viggers

A total of 6,472 new jobs have been promoted in the period 1 April 1982 to 31 March 1987 as a result of new foreign in vestment and expansions of existing foreign-owned companies.
