HC Deb 24 February 1988 vol 128 c238W
Mr. Rost

To ask the Secretary of State for Energy what action he proposes to take in response to the report by Price Waterhouse, relating to the electricity tariff offered by the Central Electricity Generating Board to private producers; and if he will make its conclusions available to private producers.

Mr. Michael Spicer

Electricity tariffs are the responsibility of the electricity supply industry and it is therefore for the industry to consider the relevant recommendations in the Price Waterhouse report. It is for area boards, not the CEGB to publish purchase tariffs. Since the Price Waterhouse report was made to the Electricity Council, any question of making its conclusions available to private producers is for the council to consider.
