To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland how many scintillators were available to, and used by, his Department for the monitoring of live sheep in the restricted areas of Scotland in each month from May 1986 to May 1987.

annually within the normal arrangements for public expenditure, programme figures are not available for any years after 1988–89. It is not possible to distinguish between the sums from capital receipts and borrowings from the National Loans Fund to meet capital expenditure for any financial year.

The table shows capital programme expenditure at cash prices and at 1986–87 prices for the five years up to 1986–87; it also gives capital receipts for house sales at cash prices and expressed as a percentage of capital programme expenditure for the same five years; estimated outturn figures for 1987–88 and 1988–89 have been included as appropriate.
