§ 47. Mr. Bernie Grant
To ask the Secretary of State for Transport whether he has any plans to change the policy guidelines issued to London Regional Transport concerning London Buses Ltd.; and if he will make a statement.

§ Mr. David Mitchell
The Government's broad objectives for London Regional Transport remain those set out in a letter of 20 July 1984 to the chairman. In the case of London Buses Ltd., my right hon. Friend the Secretary of State has more recently asked LRT to bring forward early proposals for its restructuring into smaller units in preparation for the eventual deregulation of bus services in London.
