Mr. Robert HughesTo ask the Secretary of State for Scotland if he will make available to the hon. Member for Aberdeen, North copies of correspondence between
108WGrampian health board and the Scottish Home and Health Department which relate to discussions and negotiations culminating in the signing on 3 November 1987 of the efficiency savings schedule of agreements by Mr. H. Fullerton for Grampian health board and by Mr. A. McKechnie and Mr. H. McGrath for the staff side, joint staff consultative committee.
§ Mr. Michael ForsythCorrespondence between the Department and health boards is not normally made available to other parties.
On 22 June the Scottish Home and Health Department wrote to Grampian health board asking for details of a new bonus scheme which it understood had apparently been introduced by the board for certain ancillary staff. The board replied on 14 October confirming that a new flat-rate bonus scheme for domestic, catering, portering, linen and laundry, hairdressing and gardening staff had been introduced to replace a number of existing ancillary staff bonus schemes. The letter dealt solely with the content of the scheme and the fact that staff representatives had been involved in its preparation and introduction.
