§ Mr. Matthew TaylorTo ask the Secretary of State for Energy if he will list those research reports, conference papers and statements made by(a) his Department's officials, and (b) United Kingdom Atomic Energy Agency staff on energy forecasting, including any specific forecasts made for the United Kingdom over the past five years; and if he will place a copy of each in the Library.
§ Mr. ParkinsonA complete list of relevant research reports, conference papers and statements made by my Department's officials would cost a disproportionate amount to prepare. However, the most important papers on forecasting produced by the Department in recent years have been:
- (i) Proof of evidence for the Sizewell 'B' public inquiry DEN/P/1. October 1982.
- (ii) Department of Energy Paper on energy projections methodology DEN/S/7. 1983.
- (iii) Department of Energy Paper on investment in energy use, DEN/S/3. January 1983.
- (iv) Paper given to the SSRC conference on strategic planning in the nationalised industries by Dr. K. J. Wigley. September 1983.
- (v) Energy Efficiency Office paper on combined heat and power. 1986.
- (vi) Energy Technology Support Unit background papers relevant to the 1986 appraisal of United Kingdom energy research, development and demonstration.
I understand that the UKAEA has not published any relevant reports, papers or statements during the period referred to.
