HC Deb 22 February 1988 vol 128 c51W
Mr. Heddle

To ask the Secretary of State for the Environment if his Department will collate regular statistics on the handling of applications by each local authority in England, indicating their performance in the execution of their duties under legislation on council house sales; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Waldegrave

The Department currently requires detailed monthly reports from 11 local authorities whose processing of right-to-buy applications is unsatisfactory. Other authorities submit quarterly returns of applications received and sales completed, and may be brought within the formal monitoring arrangements if complaints received indicate that this is justified.
