§ Mr. Ron DaviesTo ask the Minister for Agriculture, Fisheries and Food what his policy is with regard to 51W coniferous woodlands being planted in areas of outstanding natural beauty under the farm woodland grant scheme.
§ Mr. Gummer[holding answer 19 February 1988]: Every application for the farm woodland scheme which falls within an area of outstanding natural beauty will be carefully considered to ensure that it is compatible with that designation. This is irrespective of whether the proposed planting consists predominately of conifers or broadleaves or comprises a mixture of the two.
