§ Mr. Austin MitchellTo ask the Prime Minister whether the arrangements for agriculture agreed at the Brussels meeting of the EEC Council of Ministers is expected to reduce the difference between common agricultural policy prices and world prices, having regard to the expected increases in yields and labour productivity; and if she will provide a forecast of the effect in each of the principal products.
§ The Prime MinisterReductions in levels of common agricultural policy support consequent upon the agreement reached at the Brussels European Council will result in the difference between Community prices and world prices being smaller than they otherwise would have been. The precise effect cannot be forecast because it will depend on a larger number of factors which cannot be predicted accurately including actual Community and world levels of production.
