HC Deb 18 February 1988 vol 127 cc742-3W
Mr. Michael Marshall

To ask the Secretary of State for Transport what representations he has received since 1 October 1987 regarding commencement of work on the Crossbush section of the A27 Arundel bypass; and what responses he has made to these representations other than interim postcard acknowledgements.

Mr. Peter Bottomley

I have received representations from my hon. Friend, the chairman of the Lyminster parish council and the local district councillor.

I wrote to my hon. Friend in December to explain that the case for building the Crossbush section of the bypass in advance was still being examined. I have written to the chairman of the parish council, with a copy to my hon. Friend, to say that I will visit Crossbush during my visit to West Sussex on 2 March. We will make an announcement on the representations as soon as possible.
