HC Deb 17 February 1988 vol 127 c608W
Dr. Goodson-Wickes

To ask the Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster if he will take steps to cease the distribution by the citizens' advice bureau in Wimbledon of the pamphlet "Sex", published by the Terrence Higgins Trust, in view of its explicit promotion of exclusively homosexual activities.

Mr. Butcher

Policy and day-to-day running of the citizens' advice bureaux are matters for the National Association of Citizens' Advice Bureaux (NACAB). I understand that NACAB circulates to bureaux a monthly information pack on AIDS publications which provides a comprehensive list of leaflets available on AIDS, including the Terrence Higgins Trust leaflet "Sex", which bureaux may choose to look at to decide whether they might be helpful to clients. The NACAB has informed me that, in its view, this leaflet is not suitable for public display and that it has not distributed it to bureaux. The NACAB has also informed me that the leaflet has not been stocked, distributed or displayed by the Wimbledon CAB.
