HC Deb 17 February 1988 vol 127 c612W
Mr. Teddy Taylor

To ask the Prime Minister by what amount the 160 million ton ceiling for cereal production payment without price reduction exceeds or is less than actual cereal production in 1987; and if she will make a statement.

The Prime Minister

The 1987 cereals harvest was affected by exceptionally difficult weather conditions in many parts of the Community; the harvest is estimated at 153 million tonnes, which is well below the trend-line production figure for 1987 of 165 million tonnes.
