§ 77. Mr. NellistTo ask the Secretary of State for Education and Science what information he has about the average daily charge by local educational authorities for a school meal and how many authorities charge more than the average.
§ Mr. DunnThe information requested is included in the October 1986 school meals census, copies of which are available in the Library. The average fixed charge for primary schools was 61p. This sum was exceeded by 50 LEAs. It is not possible to provide equivalent data in respect of secondary schools as many authorities operate cash cafeterias.
