The information is not available in the precise form requested. At 29 January in the Basildon local authority district there were 461 young people in training on YTS of whom 143 were employed by their training provider and 37 people on the new job training scheme of whom none were employed. Occupancy figures are not available for other adult training schemes. The total local work force for the Basildon LAD is currently 64,489 (as at 29 January).

To ask the Secretary of State for Employment how many people in the Basildon area have been employed on Government-sponsored training schemes for each of the last five years.

Information about the number of people participating in Government training schemes in the Basildon area for each of the last five years, and the number of those who had employed status, is not readily available and could be obtained only at disproportionate cost.
