HC Deb 15 February 1988 vol 127 c434W
Mr. Barry Field

To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department what information he has as to the frequency of meetings of police liaison committees; and if he will list(a) the 10 committees that meet most frequently and (b) the 10 committees that meet least often.

Mr. Douglas Hogg

In accordance with section 106 of the Police and Criminal Evidence Act 1984, the arrangements made in each police area for obtaining the views of the community on policing are the responsibility of individual police authorities, or, in the Metropolitan police district, the Commissioners of Police. I regret that information in the form requested is not available.

Mr. Barry Field

To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department what information he has as to the number of times the police liaison committee has met on the Isle of Wight.

Mr. Douglas Hogg

I understand that the police liaison committee for the Isle of Wight met five times in 1986 and once in 1987.
