Mr. Fearn

To ask the Secretary of State for Social Services if(a) medical laboratory technicians, (b) physiotherapists, (c) occupational therapists,(d) speech therapists, (e) medical physicists, (f) radiographers and (g) radiologists have received pay rises equal to the rise in the retail prices index in each year since 1983.

The percentage pay settlements for these groups in the National Health Service from 1983–84 to 1986–87 (1 August to 31 July) together with the annual rise in the retail prices index (July to July) are set out in the table.
