HC Deb 15 February 1988 vol 127 c449W
Mr. Livingstone

To ask the Secretary of State for Defence what is the average time the Army Board of the Defence Councils takes to deal with an appeal under section 180 of the Army Act 1955.

Mr. Freeman

[holding answer 8 February 1988]: Typically, the time taken from submission to the conclusion of an appeal varies between three to six months depending on the complexity of the case, and the amount of preparatory work which needs to be done before presentation to the Army Board.
