§ Mr. Nigel LawsonThe ECOFIN Council met in Brussels on 9 February. I represented the United Kingdom.
The Council heard and discussed interim reports from the chairmen of the monetary committee and committee of central bank governors on the Commission's proposals to complete the liberalisation of capital movements in the Community. The Council agreed that the committees should complete their final reports to the Council by April and that Council working group discussions should start forthwith.
