HC Deb 15 February 1988 vol 127 c493W
Mr. Ronnie Campbell

To ask the Secretary of State for Social Services how many people in Northumberland health authority(a) received hospital treatment as a result of attacks by dogs, (b) died as a result of such attacks and (c) received hospital treatment for dog-borne diseases, including toxocara canis, as a result of contact with dogs or dog excrement, for the last year for which figures are available.

There were no deaths of usual residents of Northumberland district health authority registered in 1986 where the underlying cause of death was due to injury caused by dogs. I regret that the remaining information requested is not available centrally.
