§ Mrs. RumboldThe GCSE examining groups and the Secondary Examinations Council are responsible for ensuring continuity of standards and for making any comparative studies that may be required. Within the groups, the GCE and CSE boards are specifically charged with ensuring GCSE grades require at least the level of achievement required for the corresponding O-level and CSE grades.
