HC Deb 11 February 1988 vol 127 c302W
Mr. Cormack

To ask the Secretary of State for the Environment when he proposes to publish his consultative document on portable antiquities.

Mr. Moynihan

[pursuant to his reply, Friday 29 January, c. 398]: My Department and the Welsh Office are today issuing a consultation paper seeking comments on the present arrangements for reporting funds and inviting suggestions for possible changes in the present law or administrative procedures. The paper explains how archaeological knowledge can be lost if finds are not reported. It asks for views on alternative arrangements, including how they might be implemented and enforced.
