To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department if he will list all the automatic and fully automatic guns owned by the late Michael Ryan; and if he will make a statement.

I understand from the chief constable that extensive investigations carried out by the Thames Valley police since the Hungerford shootings into the weapons held by Michael Ryan have not disclosed any substantive evidence that Ryan was ever in possession of automatic or fully automatic weapons. He was lawfully entitled to possess the following self-loading weapons:

  • Beretta 9 mm pistol
  • Bernadelli 22 pistol
  • CZ OR50 32 pistol
  • Kalashnikov 7.62 mm rifle
  • Underwood Carbine 30 rifle
