HC Deb 11 February 1988 vol 127 c297W
Mr. Corbett

To ask the Secretary of State for the Environment whether he will list those bodies which he will usually consult when considering planning applications for new fur farms over any likely detrimental impact upon the local environment.

Mr. Waldegrave

Decisions on most planning applications are taken by local authorities who will consider each case on its individual merits. Article 15 of the Town and Country Planning General Development Order 1977 lists the bodies which authorities are statutorily required to consult before granting planning permission for any particular development. There are no specific consultation requirements for applications for new fur farms. Apart from the statutory requirements, generally it is for local authorities to decide the extent of consultation in particular cases.
