have issued written warnings following the introduction of the legislation which awarded them the powers to do so; and how many individuals have been charged by Tayside police with offences of indecent acts and have received such written warnings.

Mr. Rifkind

Figures showing the number of warnings issued in recent years are contained in the first of the tables.

"Offences of indecent acts" is not a precise category, but the numbers of offences involving such conduct as can be identified from available statistics are given in the second of the tables.

Mr. Rifkind

The guide setting out an advisory standard for means of escape from fire in certain houses in multiple occupation in Scotland will be issued by the Scottish Home and Health Department today. The guide also covers related fire safety measures and will assist the process of consultation between housing and fire authorities which is required under housing legislation. Copies of the guide are being placed in the Libraries of both Houses.
