§ Mrs. CurrieThe summarised accounts of health authorities in England for 1986–87 record income in total only from charges to third parties for the non-national Health Service use of ambulance services as £340,263.
This does not, however, include a small element in respect of ambulance services within the income arising from the provision of services to private health care establishments and private patients (totalling £1,490,424 in 1986–87) which health authorities are required to account for as income under section 58 of the National Health Service Act 1977.
