To ask the Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster what was the weekly output of United Kingdom-made steel in November 1987; and what has been the trend in the weekly rate since 1980.

In November 1987 the weekly average of United Kingdom crude steel production was 370,000 tonnes. The information on steel output is published monthly in "BSC/BISPA Steel Industry Statistics" and the "CSO Monthly digest of statistics", copies of which are in the Library of the House.
