§ Mr. CryerTo ask the Secretary of State for Energy if he will undertake to revise all statements made to the House by Ministers in his Department since May 1979 on safe levels of radiation exposure, in the light of(a) new dose limits recommended by the International Commission on Radiological Protection and (b) the new exposure standards set by the National Radiological Protection Board.
§ Mr. Michael SpicerOccupational exposure to radiation is the responsibility of my right hon. Friend the Secretary of State for Employment. Reference was made to the current advice on dose limitation provided by national and international bodies in the answers I gave the hon. Member for Newcastle Upon Tyne, Central (Mr. Cousins) on 22 January 1988 at column886 and 1 February 1988 at columns 474–75.
