§ Mrs. CurrieThe table shows data from the hospital inpatient inquiry maternity statistics. These statistics are derived from registration material and from maternal discharges derived from a nominal one in 10 sample of inpatient records from maternity units of the National Health Service non-psychiatric hospitals in England. The latest available year for these data is 1985.
Comprehensive data on maternities in private hospitals are not available centrally.
