§ Mr. ScottThe total number of civil servants in the Department wholly employed on information technology tasks (as specified in Treasury-Central Computer and Telecommunications Agency guidelines) in grades from executive officer to unified grade 7 is 1,494. Of these, 730 work in the north-east of England and 320 work in the north-west. There are, in addition, 1,174 data processing staff below the grade of executive officer who work in the north-east and 146 who work in the north-west. The Department does not hold any details of information technology staff working in Yorkshire.
