§ Mr. John PattenSeveral systems are in use in North America and others are being developed here. We are considering whether electronic monitoring would be useful to enforce curfews or track an offender's whereabouts. This could be part of new arrangements for punishment in the community, as an alternative to custody. We hope to announce proposals later this year.
