To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs when Her Majesty's Government expect to communicate to the European Commision full details of any draft nuclear export agreements with Japan for technology and nuclear materials transfer, in compliance with article 103 of the Euratom Treaty.

[holding answer 25 January]: We have no agreement with Japan for technology and nuclear materials transfer. The hon. Member may have in mind the contract between British Nuclear Fuels Plc and Japanese Nuclear Fuel Services. I am advised that this contract does not fall within the scope of article 103 of the Euratom treaty.
