Mr. Coleman

To ask the Secretary of State for Employment if he will publish in theOfficial Report a list of those industrial installations in west Glamorgan which are covered by the Control of Industrial Major Accident Hazards Regulations 1984 (S.I. 1984, No. 1902); and whether the amending European Community directive 87/216 has yet been applied to any of them.

The industrial installations in west Glamorgan notified to the Health and Safety Executive under the Control of Industrial Major Accident Hazards Regulations 1984 are;

  1. 1. BP Chemicals Limited, Port Talbot;
  2. 2. British Gas Corporation, E M Edwards Works, Jersey Marine, Neath;
  3. 3. BP Oil (Llandarcy) Refinery Limited, Llandarcy, Neath;
  4. 4. BP Oil (Llandarcy) Refinery Limited, Queens Dock, Swansea;
  5. 5. Calor Gas Limited, Aberdulais;
  6. 6. Inc (Europe) Limited, Clydach.

Compliance with the EC directive 87/216 is required by 24 September 1988. Regulations to implement the directive in Great Britain are currently being prepared.
