To ask the Secretary of State for Wales how many men and how many women were in full-time employment in June 1979 and December 1987 in(a) Bridgend, (b) Mid Glamorgan and (c) Wales.

In Wales, total male employment was 618,000 in June 1979 and 486,000 in September 1987 (the latest available date); equivalents for full-time female employment are 250,000 and 210,000 (these figures exclude self employed). Figures for Bridgend and Mid Glamorgan are not available, nor are separate figures for full-time male employees.
