§ Mr. GristThe number of mammography units in Wales is to be increased as part of the centrally funded breast screening programme. The provision of cervical screening is the responsibility of district health authorities. Some £800,000 a year of central funding has been allocated over the last two years to help authorities develop and extend the service they provide.
