§ Mr. Michael SpicerThe existing cross-channel electricity supply link between England and France was not fully commissioned until October 1986.
In 1985–86 France supplied the CEGB's system with 103 GWh (370,799 GJ) of electricity. There were no exports from England and France.
In 1986–87 electricity exports from England to France were 188 GWh (676,798 Gil, while imports from France amounted to 6590 GWh (23,723,934 GJ). This represents a ratio of exports to imports of 1:35.
