Although overall administrative responsibility for Customs and Excise matters in the north and north-east of Scotland will be transferred to Edinburgh and Glasgow (and Clyde) collections, senior managers will remain in Aberdeen to manage Customs and Excise matters and full services to local commercial and industrial organisations will be maintained.

The administrative section will, however, be transferred to Edinburgh or Glasgow as part of a necessary restructuring 787W of the Scottish collections. Staff trade union representatives have been kept advised of the proposals and full discussions are taking place.
